Until now, it has been quite difficult to find out about the existing range of apps on Apple's Vision Pro mixed reality headset. Links to the App Store have been working for months and can also be accessed and viewed on Mac, iPhone or iPad (in the respective App Store application, download impossible). But Apple didn't plan for full use via the web – so you first had to find the right links. The company changed that at the beginning of the week: The entire visionOS App Store can now be viewed in the browser via its own URL called apps.apple.com/us/vision.

Editorial offer plus categories
The editorial offering that Apple regularly maintains is also available – both with articles and with so-called collections that bring together certain apps for the glasses. Otherwise, you can switch between “Apps & Games” and the Apple Arcade game subscription. There is also a separate category for “Spatial Games”.
Apple also lists the latest apps, “Hot this Week,” “The Best Apps,” and iPad and iOS apps that run on the headset. Finally, you can also go through individual categories, including “Entertainment”, “Health & Fitness”, “Lifestyle”, “Productivity”, “Shopping” or “Photo & Video”. According to Apple (as of mid-February), there are currently over 1,000 apps optimized for visionOS.
iPadOS apps run instantly – actually
A bit annoying: Clicking on individual apps or articles may still trigger a link to the App Store on the respective device if the respective visionOS app is also available for other devices – you then have to switch back to the browser. There is currently no hit list with the best-selling visionOS apps (or those with the highest sales or downloads).
Apple always emphasizes how easy it is for developers to adapt existing iOS or iPadOS apps for the Vision Pro. Most apps for iPhone and iPad run by default anyway, unless the developers have blocked them, like Netflix does. The Vision Pro has been available in the US since February 2nd. Availability is also expected in the first European countries – including Germany and France – by summer.
