Freenet has been selling the original Gigamobil-M tariff from Vodafone since March 4th. It basically offers 50 GB of data volume, but thanks to a special offer it is currently 250 GB.
All information about the tariff
This traffic increase is undoubtedly the best offer in the Vodafone network at the moment. Customers can download their 250 GB at up to 300 Mbit/s. The tariff normally costs 39.99 euros per month. Freenet is currently reducing the price by almost 38 percent to 24.99 euros per month – the 200 GB data bonus is still available. All other conditions correspond to the original Vodafone tariff:
- 50 GB data volume + 200 GB data volume on top every month = 250 GB
- 5G with up to 300 MBit/s
- Vodafone network
- Telephony & SMS flat rate
- EU roaming including Switzerland
- eSIM optional
- 24.99 euros per month instead of 39.99 euros (compared to the current offer price on Vodafone.de)
- 29.99 euros one-time connection price
- 24-month term
Freenet advertises that the basic contract would be 25 GB and that 225 GB of additional data volume would be added. If you look directly at Vodafone.de, you will see: The basic tariff offers 50 GB and there is 200 GB of additional data volume. Either way – you get 250 GB for 25 euros.
Pricing Highlights
Customers can carry unused data volume into the next month. This means that the data volume does not expire. Vodafone calls it Deployed. For example, if you only use 30 GB in a month, you take the remaining 220 GB with you into the following month.
In addition, is Roaming within the EU included, so you can communicate and surf in other European countries at no additional cost.
Cost trap from the 25th month
The Freenet offer has a minimum term of 24 months. This is how long the discounted price of 24.99 euros per month applies. From the 25th month onwards, Freenet charges 59.99 euros per month. You should therefore cancel in good time to save unnecessary additional costs.
Confusing fine print
Freenet writes in its legal information about the tariff: “Applies when concluding a Freenet mobile phone contract in the GigaMobil M tariff with Smartphone 10 in the Vodafone network.. In fact, you don't buy a smartphone with the tariff, but only the cell phone tariff without a smartphone.
