GitOps for Devs, DevOps and Ops
The Dev Day starts with an introduction by Niklas Metje to the principles, tools and workflows for GitOps, before Florian Heubeck takes participants on a journey: He gives a detailed insight into how GitOps has developed into the standard operating model at MediaMarktSaturn. In further lectures, François Le Pape, among others, describes how preview environments and monorepos with ArgoCD can contribute to higher developer satisfaction. During an interactive panel on the question “Is there a perfect GitOps tool?” Participants also have the opportunity to discuss suitable tools with the experts.
Engin Diri opens the Platform Day on April 18th with a lecture that shows how an internal developer platform can be built on Kubernetes using Backstage, IaC and GitOps. In further talks, Mario-Leander Reimer describes how multiple Kubernetes clusters can be operated using GitOps principles. At the end of the online conference, Thomas Fricke will explain in detail how DevSecOps can be successfully integrated into architectural concepts as an extension of GitOps, especially in strictly regulated environments. He presents an example of the first form of the framework of the target architecture of the German administrative cloud strategy (PDF), on which he worked.

Platform Day:
Deploy stably, automate securely
GitOps' declarative approach is based on using a Git repository as a “single source of truth” for the continuous comparison of current and target states for deployment pipelines, applications and infrastructure. The online conference Mastering GitOps is therefore aimed equally at developers and infrastructure managers who would like to get to know GitOps or who have already gained some initial experience.
