When will the Vision Pro come to Europe? There are still only rumors that it could be time for Apple's developer conference WWDC 2024 by the summer. As part of a code leak, twelve new countries or regions have now emerged that are likely to be planned by Apple as the next sales areas. They provide an insight into the marketing strategy. So far, the mixed reality headset has only been available in the USA since February 2nd.

Many new languages for the keyboard
The list was discovered by MacRumors as part of visionOS and is actually about the headset's virtual on-screen keyboard and the languages it supports. Typing is currently only released there in the US format (“English (US)”); after all, the Vision Pro is only available there. In future visionOS versions, twelve additional languages will be added at once. In Europe these are German (Germany), French (France) and English (Great Britain).
Canada, Australia, Japan and Singapore will also be supported in English in the future. French support is still available for Canada (presumably the Quebec region), and in Asia there is also Cantonese (for the Hong Kong region in the traditional style), Chinese (abbreviated), Japanese and Korean.
In the EU only Germany and France?
In practice, this would mean introducing the Vision Pro in a second step in Great Britain, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan and Korea. (Taiwan could be added, although traditional Chinese characters are common there and are not included in the list.) Smaller European countries, including Austria and Switzerland, were initially left out.
At the WWDC in June, Apple is expected to announce important innovations in visionOS – and also want to motivate developers to develop new apps for the Vision Pro. It would be accordingly important for the group to open a larger market straight away. Apple is said to have sold around 200,000 headsets in the USA so far, but the company does not provide any information on sales figures. It is also unclear whether the new keyboard languages are really a clear indication of availability in the relevant countries. Apple could also prepare these for a later date.
