The date for WWDC 2024 has been set: Apple will hold its developer conference from June 10th to 14th, as the company announced on Tuesday evening. The entire event should be able to be followed as a stream or in the form of video recordings. For a limited number of guests, Apple will also be holding a small on-site event on the company's premises in Cupertino for the keynote on June 10th. The keynote itself has also been a pre-recorded video for several years.

iOS 18 is coming – but also new Macs?
As usual, the focus of the event is Apple's operating systems; in addition to iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, this year there are macOS 15, watchOS 11 and tvOS 18 – as well as possibly visionOS 2. Major innovations are expected, especially for the iPhone, including a more flexible home screen and a More comprehensive integration of AI functions in various parts of the operating system and in Apple apps.
It remains unclear whether Apple will also use the date to announce new hardware; the desktop Macs Mac Studio, Mac mini and Mac Pro have not yet been converted to Apple's M3 generation. Apple presented the Vision Pro there last year, but a second generation of hardware is likely to be in the distant future.
Some developers are upset
In addition to catching up when it comes to artificial intelligence, Apple has to particularly drum up support for its platforms this year: the relationship with both smaller and giant app providers is increasingly tense, and hardly any software market has developed for visionOS so far. Complaints about frustrating app rejections and Apple's new fee model in Europe continue. Regulators are increasingly intervening in the company's platforms, after Europe now also in the home market of the USA: The US Department of Justice filed a large-scale antitrust lawsuit against Apple at the end of last week.
