Vox Sevilla cries out against the socialist mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñozafter having awarded a contract for 120.000 euros to her husband’s company to publicize the activities of the Institute of Culture and Arts of Seville (ICAS).
The spokesperson for Vox Municipal Group in Seville City Hall, Cristina Peláezhas requested explanations from Antonio Muñoz and has stated that “the explanations are pertinent because the contract was awarded directly by the ICAS Board of Directors, which at that time, September 2019, chaired by Antonio Muñoz himself. The process, through urgent processing and according to the information published, is full of suspicious itemsamong them, the dismissal of the appeals for special contracting presented by one of the companies that participated in the contest”.
The municipal spokesperson for Vox has pointed out that “regardless of whether the award was legal or not, of course it was not ethical or moraland this case responds to what has been a constant in this mandate, which has revealed Muñoz’s nepotism in other memorable cases that we have denounced on numerous occasions.
Thus, Peláez recalled that “in 2001 Muñoz hired his partner, Fernando Repiso, when He was CEO of the Sevilla Global Agency, socialist beach bar created in times of Monteseirín which turned out to be a real employment agency. Muñoz has carefully taken care of her husband, and her company at the time, Family Different S.L.to which the contract in question was extended because, coincidentally, that contract was not renewed on time”.
The also candidate for mayor for Vox has added that “another company at the municipal level, origin of the great socialist corruption, Mercasevillahe rented some premises of his property in the Arenal neighborhood for the company of Muñoz’s husband, at a lower price than the market price and for an activity that was not related to the object required by the MercaSevilla regulations”.
Cristina Pelaez has added that “it is a good moment, now that the candidates for mayor have to examine ourselves before the Sevillians, to clear up any shadow of doubt about the management of public resources, for which, as we explain, we also encourage Muñoz to reveal the details of that extraordinary session of the municipal plenary session, in the middle of the confinement, in April 2020, where one of the points was the modification of the regulations for the creation of a new senior position, the management of the Lope de Vega Theater , but with the rank of director general, which fell to Carlos Forteza whose name Muñoz announced two months before the end of the selection process”.
