The Super League has celebrated the order issued this Tuesday by the Provincial Court of Madridwhich has upheld the appeal filed by European Super League Companly (ESLC) and has denounced the monopolistic conduct exercised by UEFA and FIFA when considering the future of European football competitions. The CEO of A22 Sports Management, the promoter company Superliga, Bernd Reicharthas not hidden his joy with the judicial pronouncement.
“We welcome the fact that this court decision allows A22 to freely continue the project of creating a new and exciting European football competition. It confirms that UEFA’s monopoly position cannot be used to pressure or threaten clubs, players or companies eager to innovate. Therefore, we will continue to engage with football stakeholders in a new and more appropriate environment, free from threats and other obstructionist measures taken by the UEFA and other organisms”, has transmitted empire type it’s a statement.
In the last chapter of the conflict that maintains the Super League with UEFA and FIFA, and which started almost two years ago, the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid has granted protection to the new project against any type of sanction while the judicial procedure continues.
The case is now pending before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and will later return to the Spanish courts. The Madrid court, which has already fined the UEFA y a lthe league in the course of this legal proceeding for acting in “procedural bad faith”, it has also condemned the UEFA to pay legal costs.
