The Popular Party of Paracuellos del Jarama has called for the resignation of the mayor of the municipality, Jorge Alberto Campos, after he announced his departure from citizensthe party with which the PP reached a government agreement after the 2019 elections.
The PP has issued a statement in which it makes it clear that after the announcement of the current mayor, who has also advanced that he will stand in the municipal elections on May 28 with the Contigo party, the formation does not feel “obliged” to maintain that government agreement, so it “opens a period of reflection on the matter”.
«The PP is a party that fulfills its commitments. And the commitment of the PP of Paracuellos was with CS. And the fact that CS is disappearing in our municipality, as in the rest of the Community of Madrid, should not interfere with the stability of the residents of Paracuellos”, they point out in the aforementioned statement, in which they ask to Campos “take a step to the side”.
They also report that Jesús Muñoz, president of the Paracuellos Popular Party, “will initiate a round of contacts with municipal groups to seek a solution that does not harm the municipality and with the aim of not paralyzing government action.”
«After the unipersonal decision of the current mayor, all the decisions made by the PP of Paracuellos will have the interests of the residents of Paracuellos as a priority. Within 4 months the residents will decide with their vote the future of Paracuellos. Until then, those of us who belong to the municipal corporation have the responsibility of guaranteeing the institutional stability of our municipality,” they add.
With you Paracuellos will be the brand with which Campos will try to revalidate the mayoralty in the municipality after announcing his departure from the orange formation because “it has no future.”
Campos pointed out that in Contigo they will flee from “tension” and “sectarianism”, and in the specific case of Paracuellos de Jarama, they will focus on managing and completing the project that began 4 years ago and that requires continuity to be able to provide to the municipality of the infrastructures it needs.
