agents of the Unit Against Illegal Immigration Networks and Documentary Falsifications of the Provincial Immigration and Border Brigade of Alicante have carried out the investigation supported by Work inspection.
The investigation was launched when a company in Crevillente was detected that was suspected of employing foreign citizens without the established labor guarantees, being exploited and without a contract. In the company registry, the investigators located 6 workers, of whom 5 were foreigners who were in an irregular situation.
The aforementioned businessman, who was also the owner of the company, forced them to work for a weekly salary of €200. But, they did not receive it in case of falling ill and not being able to attend their homework.
According to the account of the National Police, these workers were exploited without respecting the occupational risk regulations: they worked long hours without rest. And his main task was to unload used clothes from trucks weighing approximately 80 kilos loaded on his back and without mechanical help. Thus, suffered back and knee injuries. They were then forced to go to work medicated for pain so that the aforementioned Moroccan businessman would not deduct the day’s work.
The detainee, who was accused of a Crime against the rights of workerswas released after appearing at police stations and was waiting to be summoned to appear in court.
