Palma has once again celebrated its traditional correfoc this Sunday that has put an end to the Sant Sebastià festivities. At seven in the afternoon nine colles de demonis and three beasts have left the bridge of Sa Riera pretending that they came out of hell itself. During the correfoc beasts and devils have burned about 183 kilos of gunpowder.

This year there have been more than 250 devils and 170 people who have played in the different batucadas that have put the soundtrack of the correfoc along with the constant whistles released by gunpowder. The beasts have made a long tour of Jaime III that has been filled with hundreds of people captivated by fire and the sparks that the demons released after two years without this party.

More than 33,000 people have participated in the correfoc, according to the Palma City Council. The event has had a special security device with agents of the Local Police and Civil Protection.

With the heat of the fire that simulated coming from hell, the people of Palma have been able to enjoy the party despite the intense cold. The colles de dimonis d have participatedand They Are Sardina-Focated, Trabucated, Es Cau des Boc Negre, Damned Encabritats, Kinfumfà and Really Burned.

The explosion of fire and sparks has been accompanied by the percussionists of the batucadas who have played their instruments incessantly.

The beasts Dragon and Guardians of Sant Jordi, Óliba de la Real and es Drac de na Coca have been other great protagonists.
