The President of the Canary Islands, Angel Victor Torres, has avoided putting his hand on fire this Saturday for all his candidates in the municipal and regional elections on May 28. before eventual future accusations in relation to the ‘Meditor case’ of corruption in the Canarian PSOE. A few days ago he and Pedro Sanchez they concluded that the plot would cause them enormous damage at the polls.
Asked by OKDIARIO if “does he put his hand in the fire for all the candidates that no one is going to be splashed by the mediating case?”, upon his arrival at the Federal Committee of the PSOE in Ferraz, Torres replied that “what I put the Hand in the fire is that when a case of corruption is detected in the PSOE, those who are allegedly corrupt are separated and in other organizations those who denounce corruption.
The socialist president has thus refused to show his face for all his colleagues, despite assuring the federal leadership “a total cleanup” in the lists so that subsequent charges do not appear. There are some candidates, especially in the municipal elections, with strong indications of their participation in the plot. The PSOE, to all those who were pointed out, gave them the option of resigning or suing. Most opted for this second option to guarantee a position on the lists.
Ángel Víctor Torres, given the attitude of some members of the plot such as the former Canarian deputy and presumed ringleader Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo ‘Tito Berni’, has stated that “it does not fit in our organization, that whoever uses it is against prostitution.” However, it should be remembered that, for now, the organization directed by Torres has only suspended Fuentes Curbelo from membership, it has not expelled him from the PSOE.
The president of the Canarian autonomous government has defended “immediate action from the Government of the Canary Islands” since “after a year and two months of investigation there is no member of the Canarian government that is being investigated.” In addition, Ángel Víctor Torres has defended “that we have tracked all the ministries and there is no damage to the public treasury.” The socialist leader has highlighted the “absolute transparency.”
