The Palma Local Police has arrested a driver of a scooter electric accumulated numerous complaints, after an incident in which, when trying to avoid a control, accidentally hit an officer.
As reported by the Local Police, the event took place on Thursday of last week, around 4:20 p.m., on Josep Darder street. The detainee is a young man 21 years.
The agents were carrying out a control of personal mobility vehicles, when they saw a young man on a scooter approaching their position at high speed, using the mobile phone and without wearing the obligatory reflective piece.
The officers stopped him, but instead of slowing down, he sped up, forcing one of the officers to move out of the way, at which point he punched him in the hand. The policeman suffered abrasions on a wrist.
A few meters ahead, the driver fell to the ground while trying to avoid a group of people, and tried to flee on foot. When he was intercepted, he said that he had fled to avoid being reported, because he already had numerous fines.
The agents filed a report for an alleged crime of assault against law enforcement officers and a minor crime of injury, and they took away the scooter.
Two drunk drivers cause accidents
On the other hand, the Local Police has intervened in recent days in two traffic accidents caused by drivers under the influence of alcoholone of them without a driving license.
The first of these accidents took place Saturday afternoon, around 5:10 p.m., on the Passatemps road, as reported by the Local Police this Thursday. A 21-year-old man collided with his car against a wall on the right side of the road. At the intersection that requires a right turn onto Caro street, the driver continued straight ahead, in the prohibited direction. The agents activated the emergency signals to warn of the danger, to which the driver responded by stopping and reversing at high speed. The police vehicle reacted in time and received only a slight blow.
The agents got out of the vehicle and saw that The 43-year-old driver presented clear symptoms compatible with alcohol intake. Once the test was carried out, it gave a result of 0.45 milligrams of alcohol per liter of expired air, for which reason a certificate was drawn up.
