He City Hall of Santanyí has regretted that once again highway improvement projects of the municipality have forgotten. In a statement, the council that leads Maria Pons denounces that despite all the commitments of the Consell de Mallorca with this Mallorcan town, None of the important projects that had to be carried out this legislature have been a reality.
It mainly concerns the construction works of the roundabout on the road from Sa Teulera to s’Alqueria Blanca, the improvement of the Santanyí-Es Llombards roadthe pedestrian promenade in the S’Olivó industrial estate and the drafting of the S’Alqueria Blanca ring road project.
The mayoress, Maria Pons, explains that these works and projects are essential for the municipality since “we are talking about dangerous points with whom there was a firm commitment to remedy.
«From the City Council we are very concerned because they have been on the table for a long time and the consistory has put everything on its side. Besides, the neighbors have been very generous giving up land and have shown a lot of patience”.
The first mayor affirms that between the S’Olivó industrial estate and the center of Santanyí an action was taken to improve the shoulder, but points out that it is not a safe and efficient way to walk from the town to the industrial area where there are shops. And she regrets that the cases of the S’Alqueria Blanca ring road and the improvement of the road between Santanyí and Es Llombards also seem to have been forgotten.
The Santanyinenc government team criticizes that the Consell de Mallorca has been promising the round for yearsdespite the fact that the nucleus comes to suffer traffic pressure in high season of more than 9,000 vehicles per day.
For all these reasons, the Santanyí City Council calls on the Department of Mobility and Infrastructures of the Consell de Mallorca to ensure that all the works planned in the municipality become a reality as soon as possible.
