The Police accuse the bailaor Raphael Bitter of the crimes of drug trafficking and attack on authority. The agents maintain that the bailaor sold drugs in his apartment in the Madrid neighborhood of malasanaand they accuse him of biting and hitting the police officers who came to arrest him on Thursday night at the Alicante station on several occasions.
It happened around 11 at night, Amargo had just gotten off the train in Alicante and was going to perform at an Italian restaurant in the old part of the city, when the agents stopped him. The bailaor, who had already been arrested in 2020 for similar crimes, resisted arrest by giving him a strong headbutt in the face of one of the agents breaking his glasses. Another of the policemen was given, according to the report, a strong bite on the hand. He was eventually arrested and remains in the dungeons of the city waiting to go to court tomorrow accused of drug trafficking and attack on authority.
Police officers from the district police station center from Madrid were investigating Amargo since last July 2022. His neighbors denounced him for sell drugs at home Espiritu Santo street. The complainants described the continuous movement of drug addicts and diverse clientele that entered the building to buy their doses.
During months of investigation, the police recorded and located several buyers, taking statements from some of them who even pointed to the bailaor. In the last steps of the investigation, the agents came to identify and arrest the man who allegedly provided drugs to Rafael Amargo for his alleged business.
The facts reported by the police are similar to those that in 2020 already led to the arrest of Amargo, also accused of drug trafficking. For all this, the Prosecutor’s Office asks the bailaor nine years in prison at the trial to be held next June.
The artist, his partner, his assistant and a fourth person were arrested on December 1, 2020. The police placed him as the leader of a small gang of drug dealers. The Prosecutor’s Office accuses them of: “persistently selling methamphetamine and other drugs” at his home in Madrid or at the place requested by the clients, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, Amargo used another of his assistants for those drug delivery tasks after which he returned to Amargo’s home to deliver the money collected.
