Jurado coffee roaster in Alicante.JURADO (JURADO)
The Pascual food group announced this Monday the purchase of the coffee company Café Jurado, based in Alicante, to integrate both the brand and its 113 workers into the company’s structure. The acquisition is part of the 2020-2023 strategic plan and responds to the purpose of Pascual, owner of brands with Bezoya, Vivesoy and Bifrutas, of leading the coffee business in the hospitality industry.
With this purchase, Pascual also seeks to boost its presence in the retail sector, since 30% of Jurado’s sales come from this channel. “With this step forward, we establish ourselves as a benchmark in the coffee sector, integrating a company from which we can learn and with which we share common values of closeness, innovation, sustainability, commitment to the local and proximity economy and a successful model of a family business”, according to Javier Peña, General Director of the Pascual Business, in a statement.
Founded in 1912 by the Jurado family, Café Jurado specialized in roasting, manufacturing and processing coffee in Alicante. Since then, the brand has expanded inside and outside of Spain. It is currently present in 20 countries and has 10 provincial delegations in the national territory, in addition to its own electronic commerce platform. Café Jurado manufactures and distributes a wide variety of coffee beans, ground, freeze-dried, soluble and in capsule format.
