Marena Olona has changed. Her days of sorrow during which she walked the Camino de Santiago to reflect on her future are already past. The one who was one of the heavyweights of Vox is experiencing a process of rebirth through all the tours that she is carrying out in different provinces of Spain and where she is receiving an unprecedented reception only seen in leaders like Santiago Abascal.
Olona is back, but not in any way. The former general secretary of Vox in the Congress of Deputies has charged harshly against the leadership of what was her party by stating that “today I see how some are sorry that she does not have cancer.”
Likewise, the former deputy has wondered if some saw her illness as the perfect excuse to remove her from the political front line after the reactions that the party has had these days. She also added that there is a general contempt for female politicians and that it is a trend that can be seen in the rest of Spanish politics».
In this sense, Olona has revealed, during a press conference at the University of Murcia, his sorrow for not having been able to hold a meeting with Santiago Abascal and that this meeting was not known by the president of Vox through social networks but rather He had already communicated it to him at the end of July when he left politics. “What we learned was how the leadership of Vox closed the possibility of continuing to walk together, which is what I had announced through my social networks in Andalusia and Spain.”
Now, Olona has announced that he is not giving up and that despite the fact that Vox has said that this is definitely the end of the road, he has remarked that it is not. «It is what the leadership of the party decided, not the bases. No, this is just the beginning.” He has also added that today if he is not in Vox “it is not by his will.”
Regarding his return to politics, Olona has announced that he is not going to form any new political party for now, nor is he going to join an existing one. However, he has stressed that he will not do so at this time because he “would further fragment the political board”, but not clarifying whether he will do so in the future.
