On July 9th and 10th, the Stadthalle Chemnitz will become Saxony’s colorful maker meeting place: Exhibitors from Chemnitz and the surrounding area will demonstrate the versatility of the maker movement over the entire weekend and invite you to discover and try out.
At the urban makerspace, the Stadtfabrikanten, a wide variety of member projects can be admired, from pen plotters and pick & place robots to milled parts and LED running lights, and in addition to independent experiments and programming exercises, visitors can discover classic craftsmanship. The brave tailor shop also focuses on traditional activities and offers workshops on using the sewing machine. A small-scale foundry and the typical process can be explored at the Sachsen Guss stand.
Anyone who has always wanted to program small robots can try it out for themselves at the RoboSAX Robotik AG stand at the Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium. The booth of Chemnitz University of Technology also provides an insight into the world of robotics with a three-meter robotic arm that can provide refreshing, self-mixed cocktails.
To make the start as a maker perfect, the Allnet shop stand provides all visitors with beginner’s material and electronic accessories such as Arduinos, RaspberryPis, Shelly, LoRa Gateways, Snapmaker, 3Doodler, IRobot Root, Robobloq and much more. Technical-physical toys are provided for the younger fraction, such as bubble machines and rockets with compressed air propulsion. There are also creative workshops, such as glue gun calligraphy.
The full program and list of exhibitors can be viewed on the Maker Faire Sachsen website. The Maker Faire is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free for everyone.
