During the last year, the team of Sommeliers from Spain and AkataVino have tasted and valued more than 3,000 wines from 3,000 wineries, from 65 production areas. Only wineries with wines above 90 points have received the direct nomination to participate in the Civas 2021 contest.
The biannual nature of the contest responds to the arduous task of prior selection of wines. This is a great merit for the selected wineries, taking into account that the starting point has been 3,000.
The jury of the contest is composed entirely of Sommeliers. They have been selected by AkataVino, among the more than 60 members of the tasting panel available by the organization. For two weeks, the jury has evaluated and scored on a complete tasting sheet, always double blind, the finalist wines.
