The motorcycle manufacturer Horex, now based in Landsberg am Lech, presented the VR6 RAW model variant at Intermot 2018. In black, with a sporty chassis and reduced weight. At Intermot 2022, the VR6 RAW 99 was a lighter and more detailed limited edition.
VR6 RAW 99 for 2023
The latest version of the Horex VR6, the VR6 RAW 99, is limited to 99 units. Background: It was presented at Intermot in October 2022, when the German motorcycle brand Horex was 99 years old. Horex now belongs to the 3C Carbon Group in Landsberg am Lech, and this is having an impact on the VR6 more than ever. The VR6 RAW 99 uses a new carbon rear frame. The frame is also made of carbon in the steering head area, which was previously optional. The RAW was already the lightest model variant of the VR6, the Limited Edition is another 5 kilograms lighter and, according to Horex, weighs only 215 kilograms (without fuel). That’s pretty light for a six-cylinder bike.
In addition, the VR6 RAW gets a new LED headlight with adaptive curve function and H-shaped daytime running lights. The Limited Edition is to be delivered from March 2023 and will then cost around 50,000 euros. Optionally in glossy black or matt black.
VR6 RAW ab 35.500 Euro
Technically, the VR6 RAW from year 2019 is based on the well-known VR6 models and thus brings 163 hp and 128 Nm torque from the compact six-cylinder. A one-piece seat with a microfiber cover, a newly designed exhaust system with two rear silencers placed one above the other on the right-hand side and specially developed forged aluminum wheels ensure independence. The fully adjustable chassis with top components from Öhlins has been tuned to be relatively sporty. Compared to the Classic model, the new exhaust system, the elimination of various trim parts and the lighter wheels save a total of 4 kilograms. Horex specifies a dry weight of 220 kilograms for the VR6 RAW.
From 2019, the new features of the RAW version also included the 7-inch LED display with real glass pane, which optionally brought numerous connectivity features (including GPS navigation and full mobile phone connectivity).
The Horex VR6 RAW is available in high-gloss or matt versions, but only in black. The mufflers, the mirrors, handlebars, frames and most of the visible parts are in “Black Gloss” or “Black Matt”. Horex states 35,500 euros as the basic price for the VR6 RAW.
Updates for Classic and Café Racer
In addition to the new RAW model, Horex also offered many innovations for the existing Horex VR6 Classic and Horex VR6 Café Racer models from 2019. From 2019, all model variants were delivered with a new chassis tuning that offers even more comfort. For even more sporty drivers, two sports packages were included in the offer from 2019. Gears and clutch have been revised and should now offer lighter and smoother gear changes. The 7-inch LED display with a real glass pane was also new in 2019.
The customization program was also increased in 2019: sporty passenger seat cover, aluminum expansion tank, heated handlebar grips and a titanium kit for all visible screws for the VR6 Classic model. In addition, the color palette has been expanded to include every conceivable desired color. The Horex VR6 Classic started the 2019 model year from 38,500 euros, the VR6 Café Racer from 42,500 euros. The respective Heritage Line versions from 42,500 euros and from 46,500 euros respectively.
Attractive collectibles for fans. I would also like something special.
Just money making. Standard is cheaper.
In 2023 we continue with the unique VR6 engine. Horex presented the new Limited Edition RAW 99 at the Intermot in October 2022, which is to be delivered from March 2023. Estimated price: around 50,000 euros. In return, the rear frame and steering head are made of carbon and therefore weigh 5 kilograms less. Also a new LED headlight with adaptive curve function.
