Nvidia is slashing the prices of its two fastest gaming graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 4090 and GeForce RTX 4080, for a second time – this time by 2 percent. The Founders Edition of the top model now costs 1819 euros, that of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 1369 euros.
In December, Nvidia had already lowered the prices once, according to its own statements, as part of the recovering euro-dollar exchange rate. The manufacturer did not comment on the renewed adjustment – the exchange rate is currently at the same level as in December: one euro is worth 1.06 US dollars.
The prices have been considered excessive since the presentation last year. At that time, Nvidia still charged 1949 euros for the GeForce RTX 4090 and 1469 euros for the GeForce RTX 4080. There is no official customization for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti because Nvidia does not sell its own Founders Edition for the model.

Manufacturer cards are cheaper
The partner manufacturers and online retailers are meanwhile much faster in reducing prices and are significantly undercutting Nvidia’s price recommendations for their own manufacturer cards. The cheapest versions of the GeForce RTX 4090 are available from around 1740 euros; those of the RTX 4080 from 1230 euros.
On the other hand, it looks worse in the price range of less than 1000 euros: The GeFforce RTX 4070 Ti still costs at least 875 euros. AMD is currently just undercutting this model with discounts on the Radeon RX 7900 XT, which is available from 850 euros, and occasionally from 830 euros. It scores particularly well with the additional memory – 20 instead of 12 GB.
Another Nvidia model is expected in April, the GeForce RTX 4070. Pricing details are not yet available.
