Last night of February 2, RTVE broadcast the second semifinal of the Benidorm Fest 2023. While being glancingly focused by the cameras, a person from among the members of the jury made an ugly gesture that social networks have not overlooked.
Nine candidates have participated in each semifinal, of which only four of each have qualified. Obviously it never rains to everyone’s liking and the voting has been lived between nerves and expectation. The chosen ones of each gala have been respectively Agoney, Alice Wonder, Fusa Nocta, Megara and, on the other hand, Blanca Paloma, Vicco, Karmento and José Otero.

The professional jury of the contest has been made up of eight members, five of them being international figures related to the Eurovision scene, and the other three nationals. The international members were Christer Björkman, Nicola Caligiore, Tali Eshkoli, Katrina Leskanich and William Lee Adams, and the national members were Nina, spokesperson for the jury, Irene Valiente and José Juan Santana.. All of them have been present in the two semifinals and in principle they will also be present in the grand final on February 4.
Leskanich, American and winner of Eurovision in 1997, has been the protagonist of both semifinals thanks to her extravagant look and bearing. However, in last night’s broadcast of the Benidorm Fest she made a controversial gesture that has put her in the eye of the hurricane. “Professional jury. What is she, five years old? ”, A user posted on Twitter along with a video that shows just the exact moment in which the judge performs a double comb. Perhaps on television for some he went missing, but there are several people who echoed the movement on social networks and there are several videos circulating on the Internet.
On the screen Nina appeared giving some evaluations about what the gala had been and in the background it can be seen how Katrina slowly raises one hand and then another while doing a comb with both. The reasons why the woman has done such a thing are not known, but it is certain that it is out of place and that it does not correspond to the behavior of a person who is doing serious and professional work on television.
