With the votes against Més, Podemos and the Mixed Group and the votes in favor of the rest of the parliamentary groups, the agreement between Real Mallorca, Consell, Govern and Palma City Council has been approved today by which the football club will receive 1.8 million euros for the naming of the stadium, which will continue to be called Visit Mallorca Estadi, as well as for other actions to promote tourism on the island. The Consell will contribute this year 750,000 euros, while the Govern and Palma City Council will run in 2023 with the rest of the agreement, which ends on June 30 of next year.
According to the club’s public note, in addition to the name of the stadium, both institutions have signed promotional and advertising actions both in the Spanish and international markets which will involve players, coaching staff and digital content for all platforms.
In this way the Visit Mallorca brand will have the following physical presence in the stadium:
– Perimeter LED advertising with a duration of six minutes
-Presence in backdrop in all appearances as local
-11×10 meter canvas in the area with the greatest television impact of the stadium
-Generation of content on the Club’s digital platforms
-Banners and redirection to the Tourism Mallorca website on the Club’s platforms
Also according to the official note, the main objective of the agreement approved by the Mallorca Tourism Foundation is work together and with a clear strategy to promote Mallorca as a sports tourism destination and thus combat the deseasonalization of tourism. In recent years, RCD Mallorca has already worked on this strategic path, attracting big stars from the international football scene and top-level teams to its facilities, in addition to the direct impact of the Mallorca brand on match days, both in the island as playing as a visitor. Now, both Consell and RCD Mallorca will go hand in hand in promoting Mallorca as a sustainable tourist destination.
