The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, congratulated the Fratelli d’Italia candidate for the Italian elections, Giorgia Meloni.
“Tonight millions of Europeans have their hopes pinned on Italy. Giorgia Meloni has shown the way for a proud Europe, free and sovereign nations, capable of cooperating for the security and prosperity of all. Avanti Fratelli d’Italia », he has written on his social media profiles.

The matches of the Italian right have prevailed clearly in the legislative elections held this Sunday with a support of between 41 and 45%, well ahead of the leftist parties, which would add between 25.5 and 29.5% of the votes, according to the foot poll ballot box of the RAI chain.
The party with the most votes would be Meloni’s (22-26%), while the League would achieve between 8.5 and 12.5% and Fuerza Italia would get between 6 and 8% of the votes.
If these results are confirmed, the leader of the Brothers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, is emerging as a clear candidate for prime minister, a position never held by a woman in Italy. No one could question her leadership, as her party has garnered more support than her two main allies combined.
Abascal’s training is reflected in Meloni’s. Italian politics has participated in Vox events in Spain and the signs of appreciation and respect have been many. In fact Meloni will attend to the Viva 22 event that Abascal’s party will organize on October 8 and 9.
In the Senate, the right would achieve between 111 and 131 of the 200 seats, followed by the center-left (33-53), the Five Star Movement (14-34) and the Third Pole (4-12). Exit polls from Istant Quorum-SkyTg24 forecast a similar result.
As for turnout, the drop already indicated by the partial data for 12:00 and 7:00 p.m. and at 11:00 p.m. turnout was 64.13%, while in 2018 it was 69.36%.
