Hundreds of illegal immigrants have managed to jump the Melilla border fence from Morocco. It is a group of 400 sub-Saharan “perfectly organized and violent” who have broken the access door of the Chinatown border control post, according to sources from the Government Delegation.
This new assault has led to the deployment of police officers: agents of the Civil Guard and the National Police have been deployed in the area.
According to sources from the Government Delegation, around 6:40 am this Friday, the anti-intrusion device of the Civil Guard Command has detected the approach to the fence of a large group of migrants, made up of more than 400 people.
The jump finally occurred at 8:40 a.m. despite the “wide” device of the Moroccan security forces, which have collaborated “actively and in a coordinated manner with the Spanish State Security Forces and Corps.” Members of the National Police Corps are collaborating with the Civil Guard in containing the jump.
It is the first jump over the fence that occurs after the new stage in diplomatic relations between Spain. The president of the Government, Pedro Sanchezchose in mid-March to support Morocco’s proposal for autonomy for Western Sahara.
In recent days, in the vicinity of the Moroccan border, there had already been clashes between immigrants trying to approach Melilla and agents from different Moroccan security forces.
