‘Process’ in reverse

The attempted harassment and overthrow of the legitimate Government this fall of 2023 bears intense resemblance—in a concentrated dose—with what it points out as its inverse, the attempt to illegally reverse the constitutional order by the Catalan independence process (the triangular coup: laws of disconnection / referendum / unilateral declaration of independence). There are those differences of degree, of course. And others: the duration. While the process took place between 2012 and 2017, with an extension until at least 2019, the attempt to abort the inauguration of Pedro Sánchez and overthrow the Government takes less time.
