The transportation and management of international cargo by air is an essential part of the supply chain. The Aragonese company Sesé has been firmly committed to this business division in recent years and already has facilities in the main cargo airports in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza), as well as direct activity in Bilbao, Valencia, A Coruña and Vigo. Outside our country, the company also operates in Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Panama and Colombia) and in China (Shanghai).
In the airport handling area, a whole series of activities and processes are included that are provided at the airport itself in order to guarantee safety and facilitate proper operation. In this sense, Manuel Gallegos, director of the air and maritime transport division of Sesé, assures that “the efficient management of air cargo – from loading, consolidation and transportation to advice and customs procedures – is essential to guarantee a more efficient service, through the use of high digitalization and integration of systems that allow us to anticipate and avoid any impact on the supply chain.”
Aware of this need, the company has its own facilities at the airports of Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza. Sesé manages around 165 million kilos of merchandise per year that transit through its facilities. «Offering fast, reliable, secure responses adapted to the needs of each company is essential. Each industry has specific characteristics and merchandise handling needs that require a great capacity for adaptation and flexibility,” says Gallegos.
When it comes to finding elements that differentiate Sesé from its main competitors after this expansion, Manuel Gallegos indicates that “with the various acquisitions we have made, we can offer door-to-door service, with the difference that we have air handling capacity, something that no other Forwarder/Transit Agent has in Spain, which represents a tremendous competitive advantage.
In this sense, when drawing up Sesé’s future plans, the company’s management explains that the idea is to “increase our production capacity in several Spanish airports and, at the same time, develop our expansion in Europe and Asia through through organic growth to, in this way, position ourselves among the main forwarders of international reference.
