At least 20 people have lost their lives when a bus fell from an overpass in an accident in Mestre near Venice (Italy) this Tuesday, leaving an apocalyptic image after it fell onto the railway track. The bus fell about 10 meters: The accident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. on the overpass of the Mestre to Marghera bypass and the A4 motorway. In the first downhill section, the bus, for reasons still unknown that must be determined, broke the railing, fell and ended up between a warehouse and the tracks of the Mestre station, subsequently catching fire.
As previously indicated, the bus accident in Mestre has left Dantesque images as the first completely burned victims were recovered.
The railway line between Mestre and Venice was suspended due to the accident of the bus, which crossed the Vempa overpass and fell into the void near the tracks. The Local Health Unit 3 of Venice has activated the “major emergencies” protocol, which involves making all hospital emergency rooms available and calling for backup personnel.
The crashed bus, which runs on natural gas, caught fire immediately after impact. Firefighters are still trying to extinguish the fire.
