Thai police arrest a 14-year-old boy in Tuesday’s shooting at an upscale shopping center in Bangkok. Authorities confirm two dead and at least three injured; However, the condition of some of the victims could increase the number of deaths.

“The suspect suffers from mental illness and had been receiving treatment at Rajavithi Hospital. He has not been taking his medications and felt as if someone had told him to ‘shoot people’. It is as if there was another him. This is what from the initial conversation with him,” says Torsak Sukwimol, head of the country’s national police.
The shooting began around 4:30 p.m. local time at the Siam Paragon shopping center, one of the most popular in Bangkok. Several shots were heard, causing panic among the hundreds of customers inside.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin visited the site in the afternoon and offered his condolences to the families affected by the tragedy.
