The weather situation will continue the same trend on Sunday and temperatures will rise even more on Monday. Starting Tuesday, however, fall will “return.”

It was announced and it has been fulfilled. Coinciding with the end of summer and around the name day of San Miguel – September 29 – a meteorological phenomenon called ‘san Miguel summer’ usually occurs, which is characterized by dry and hot weather that lasts several days.
The last few days have been sunny and with pleasant temperatures, and this Saturday the values have returned to those of midsummer, hovering around 30 on the coast and surpassing that barrier in the interior.
In Álava the maximum temperatures have been recorded in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Agurain-Salvatierra, with 31 and 31 degrees respectively.
In Bizkaia, 34 degrees were recorded in Igorre and 33 in Amorebieta-Etxano, Galdakao or Mungia, among others.
In Donostia the thermometers have reached 27 degrees, while in the interior, such as in Bergara or Arrasate, they rose to 33 degrees.
In Navarra, the maximum has been recorded in Tudela, with 31 degrees.
And in Iparralde, Biarritz has recorded a maximum of 29.
Tomorrow, Sunday, we will continue with a summer atmosphere, according to the forecast from Euskalmet, the Basque Meteorological Agency. On the coast, maximum temperatures will remain similar and in inland points they will rise a couple of degrees. We will have clear skies throughout the day, not ruling out that in the afternoon-evening we may see some low clouds or some mist in points on the coast.
Light winds will blow from the south, which on the coast will become light from the north around midday.
Monday will continue to be hot and hotter than the previous days, too. On the Cantabrian slope, thermometers will rise due to the southern wind, which will gain a little more intensity. In any case, in the southern half of the territory the maximums could drop a couple of degrees.
During the afternoon or evening, it is likely that the wind will turn west-northwest on the coast with some intensity, which will cause low clouds to begin to be seen near the coast and also in points on the Cantabrian slope.
Starting Tuesday, a drop of up to 10 degrees in the maximum temperatures is expected, making the first week of October more typical of autumn.
