Ana Ortiz, whom everyone knows as Anita, is a 16-year-old teenager who was born with only her right hand. Almost two years ago, the Valencian woman started a project called But How Beautiful You Are, a job of creating and selling jewelry, which she makes with her sole hand. Now Anita is holding a miracle auction selling her jewelry with which she intends to raise funds to buy her bionic hand, valued between 60,000 and 100,000 euros, since Social Security does not finance them, and also help other children get theirs. To this end, Ana Ortiz has organized a charity night at The Westin Valencia Hotel next Friday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m.
“I’m working hard to make this gala different, super special, and where I’m sure that together they’ll all get prosthetics for many children,” explains Anita about the evening with which she hopes to be able to pay for her new bionic hand. . The party will first have a photocall for the guests. Afterwards, attendees will move on to the main rooms where Ana Ortiz will briefly present her new project and then “there will be a charity auction with unique pieces and the jewelry raffles from Pero qué BonitaEres…”, as she explains.
Not afraid of work
“I’m not afraid to work, but being a girl and without means, I need you to give me that push to make my project known.” Those are the words that Anita wants to convey to everyone. The process of creating her jewelry is very special. First she begins to work with the sketches of what her creation will be, which she draws herself and then begins to assemble the jewelry. Then she purchases the different materials with which she will work. She admits that working the way she does “is quite difficult for me.” Once she has the finished piece, she takes a photo of it and retouches it with Photoshop. Finally, she adds the jewel to the catalog on her website.
A prosthesis, a dream
Ana Ortiz’s objective, as previously indicated, with the auction is clear: raise enough money to pay for a bionic prosthesis for herself and other children who need them. These medical advances help more people every day. In many cases they make phantom pain disappear, referring to the pain that occurs when one of the body’s extremities is missing. Bionic prostheses provide security and make this pain disappear, providing independence and returning touch and functions to the replaced body parts. With this gala, Ana Ortiz hopes to continue with her ambitious project and with a lot of heart from which great things are expected.
