WhatsApp is probably working on automatically deleting media content in channels

WhatsApp appears to be currently working on a setting that will automatically delete media in channels. You can select a period of time in the channel settings after which the media will be automatically deleted – either after a day, after a week or after a month. The default setting is that the media is not deleted at all. The delete function is intended to relieve the load on the internal memory.

According to information from WaBetaInfo, the function will initially come with an upcoming beta version of WhatsApp on Android (2.23.20.11).

Slightly changed user interface

With the update to version 2.23.20.6 of WhatsApp Beta, a reply function for channel content was recently announced. WaBetaInfo also announced that WhatsApp developers are working on a better user experience for channels, which should also offer control over received media.
