Angélica (Écija, Seville, 24 years old): “Pedro Sánchez and Yolanda Díaz would do anything to stay in power”
Angélica, a graduate in English philology and a primary school teacher at a religious school in Écija (Seville), came with her family on a bus that left Seville at four in the morning.
They come to demonstrate against the amnesty, since they consider it inadmissible that the governability of Spain involves “forgiving everything to Puigdemont.” He believes that Yolanda Díaz and Pedro Sánchez would do “anything to stay in power.”
He advocates for the electoral repetition, even if the result is favorable for his party (PP): “Let whatever has to happen happen. If the PSOE wins, let the PSOE win. But let the government not forgive those who break Spain. I don’t care if they are Catalans or Murcians, it is a question of legality.”
Regarding a hypothetical great coalition between PP and PSOE, he considers that it would be good to have an Executive “from the center” and “away from extremism”, but he prefers that Pedro Sánchez not continue as president, since he prefers someone with “more lucidity and principles” .
Regarding whether the situation in Catalonia has stabilized during Sánchez’s mandate compared to the Rajoy years, he believes that “even though it is not talked about as much in the media”, the problem is still there, and granting the amnesty would still heat up further the conflict since “many people in Catalonia” openly oppose granting the measure of grace to the leaders of the process.
