Azerbaijan confirms the suspension of the military operation it had launched in the territory of Nagorno Karabakh, after the authorities of the self-proclaimed republic accepted the surrender and completely disarmed its armed groups.
The Russian peacekeeping contingent has been key in ending the violence, which Armenia has called a “large-scale military offensive” by Azerbaijan. Tensions increased considerably in the last 9 months, when Azerbaijan blocked the only land communication route between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Several international authorities called for an end to the violence during the UN General Assembly in New York. An opportunity that several world leaders have taken advantage of to improve their diplomatic relations. This is the case of the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.
At least 6 Palestinians have been killed and 30 injured following an Israeli Army operation in the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern occupied West Bank.
And in Spain the players of the women’s soccer team achieve changes in the federation. All those called up, with the exception of Mapi León and Patri Guijarro, have agreed to play against Sweden this Friday.
