Instead of having to rummage through your own photo stocks or a stock photo database in search of a suitable image, as before, you can simply let the AI work for you. But: You have to know how best to reach your goal and which text commands (prompts) you have to feed the AI. Getting started is not quite as trivial as you might initially think. But once you have overcome the first hurdles, you can now let off steam in the creative playground.

In the c’t webinar “Fantastic visual worlds with AI”, Heise legal advisors Joerg Heidrich and Dr. Michael Koch practical insights into mid-journey use. The speakers show how the first steps can be carried out without frustration. Furthermore, explain what components the prompts consist of and how you can combine them creatively. If you like the basic composition of the work, but individual aspects still bother you, you no longer necessarily have to use Photoshop etc. to change details. Midjourney can do that too. How exactly you can further vary images using “inpainting” is also discussed.

The speakers also shed light on the most important legal context and clarify what needs to be taken into account if you want to use the images created professionally or privately.
Since Midjourney is best fed with English language commands, a basic knowledge of English is required to be able to understand the examples shown. The webinar itself will take place in German.
