Employment, measured in terms of full-time equivalent jobs, has increased by 0.7% in relation to the first quarter of the year, which represents growth in year-on-year terms of 1.5%, a total of 14,270 jobs more than the second quarter of 2022.
The GDP of the Basque Autonomous Community has advanced by 0.4% in the second quarter of 2023 in quarter-on-quarter terms and the interannual growth is estimated at 1.5%, one tenth less, in both cases, than in the advance given to meet in July. Employment, measured in terms of full-time equivalent jobs, has increased by 0.7% in relation to the first quarter of the year, which represents growth in year-on-year terms of 1.5%, a total of 14,270 jobs more than the second quarter of 2022, according to data released by Eustat.
These estimates, which incorporate all the current economic information available at the time of their preparation, reduce by one tenth those obtained in the Preview of Eustat’s Quarterly Accounts of July 17, both in quarterly and interannual growth, while the Estimated variations in employment remain unchanged.
Eustat has specified that, if the nominal GDP data for 2022 is compared with the previous covid-19 data, the GDP for 2022 is 8.5% higher than that of 2019.
Regarding the evolution of GDP by territory, in the second quarter of 2023 Álava presents an interannual growth of 1.6%, Gipuzkoa of 1.5% and Bizkaia of 1.4%.
