The former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales has denied before the judge of the National Court coercion and lack of consent in the kiss he gave to the Spanish team player Jenni Hermoso at the World Cup trophy presentation in Sydney (Australia).
Prosecutor’s sources have confirmed to the Europa Press agency that Rubiales has answered questions from all parties during the nearly 45 minutes of his statement as an investigator. The Prosecutor’s Office, for its part, has requested that he be prohibited from approaching less than 500 meters from Hermoso and communicating with her during the investigation of the case.
In addition, the Public Ministry has asked the head of the Central Court of Instruction Number 1 that Rubiales must appear every fifteen days at the nearest court.
Rubiales went to court this Monday walking with his lawyer, the lawyer Olga Tubau, and they walked together down the hallway to the entrance, where around a hundred journalists were waiting. However, he has refused to answer questions from the media.
