A man arrested for stabbing another after surprising him in his home

The National Police in Palma has arrested a man of Ecuadorian origin as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of homicide, for stabbing another man whom he surprised at his home when he was visiting the babysitter.

As reported by the force this Thursday in a press release, the events occurred on June 18, around 2:50 a.m., in a house on General Riera street.

The victim went to the home where the now detained man resided to go see a friend who was babysitting a family. At one point, the relatives returned to the apartment and were surprised by the presence of the man, whom they asked for explanations.

These were not enough for the family members, who increased their aggression towards the victim, hitting him on the head and causing several injuries.

The resident of the house went to the kitchen and grabbed a butcher knife, while at the same time he snatched the stranger’s mobile phone.

The man, according to the Police, increased his aggression and directed a stab at the victim’s side, but he put his left leg in the path of the knife, causing injuries to said limb. Specifically, the wound required more than 30 stitches, affecting deep planes with the tear of several muscles.

The attacked person was able to leave the home and a young woman helped him on the street, calling an ambulance and the Police. The victim was transferred to the Son Espases Hospital due to the seriousness of the injuries, reports Europa Press.

The Homicide group of the National Police took charge of the investigation, managing to identify the man and proceeding to arrest him, this past Wednesday, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of attempted homicide.
