When you receive your payroll each month you always look with some anxiety to see if any increase or happiness appears as if by magic so that it is higher than usual, and when that happens the truth is that it is fantastic for those who are going to benefit. of it. If you are a civil servant, you should know that you are going to be very happy when you receive your October payroll, so check it carefully because it will bring a little gift under your arm… take note!

Being a civil servant has many benefits, starting with the fact of having a guaranteed job for life, unless you commit an offense serious enough to lose it, but this is not usually the case.

Civil servants’ payrolls bring a gift in October

As announced by the Workers’ Commissions (CCOO), civil servants’ payrolls will increase by 0.5% starting in October thanks to a floor clause in the agreement that reflects that they would rise up to 2.5% in 2023 with two possible variable increases, both of 0.5%. This clause was drafted in the Framework Agreement for a 21st Century Administration and has been signed by both CCOO and UGT with the Government at the General Table of public administrations.

The first of the increases is applied if the harmonized CPI (IPCA) in 2022 and 2023 exceeds 6%, and the second would arrive if the nominal GDP in 2023 is ahead of what was forecast by the Government (2.1%). From CCO they believe that everything indicates that the IPCA from 2022 will be higher than 6%, so that when added to the current data it would reach 8.3% and that new increase in the salary of civil servants would take place, which will also be retroactively from January 2023, so at least a good peak will be received in the October payroll.

Regarding the second increase, CCOO has stated that it may be possible that it also arrives, but that in this case it would not arrive until the beginning of 2024, also being 0.5% and retroactively also from January 2023 if the Spanish GDP grows this year and reaches 2.1%.

There is no doubt that both increases would not only be very useful for civil servants month by month, but since they are practically a full year retroactively, it will almost be an extra pay when it arrives.
