It is expected that up to 15 liters per square meter may fall between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., during the early hours of Monday and during the afternoon of that same day.
The Security Department of the Basque Government has activated yellow warnings from this Sunday and this Monday in anticipation of heavy rainfall during these two days.
For this afternoon the warning goes from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the possibility of exceeding 15 liters per square meter in one hour. Moderate and stormy showers are expected that could be strong locally, especially in the west, with wind gusts of between 60 and 80 kilometers per hour to which hail would be added.
The same situation could be repeated on Monday between 00:00 and 03:00 and that same day between 15:00 and 21:00.
Aemet Navarra has activated the alert for accumulation of precipitation and storms, which may be accompanied by hail and very strong gusts of wind, from 2:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. this Sunday.
Impressive hail storm, this morning in the Ribera Navarra
On Sunday not too many changes are expected. The temperatures will continue to be summery, although on the Cantabrian slope they will drop and the heat will be more bearable; on the coast the maximum will remain below 30 ºC. As a result of the instability, there will be some storms, especially at dawn and from the afternoon, and they could be locally intense. The weak south component winds will predominate, and from noon the breeze will enter the coast.
On Monday the instability will become more evident. Throughout the day there will be stormy showers that could be locally strong. The wind will blow light and variable, prevailing from the southeast in the Ebro Valley and the breezes in the Cantabrian area. The minimum temperatures could drop somewhat, while the maximums will drop more noticeably.
