The yellow warning due to heavy rainfall remains activated until Monday. The storms have swept from the Cadagua corridor to Greater Bilbao. Lightning has struck a gas station in Portugalete.
The last hour of Sunday has brought rain and large electrical storms to Bizkaia. At 7:00 p.m., heavy showers were recorded at the Zalla station with 15.6 l/m² collected in 1 hour and at Galindo station, 15.9 l/m².
At 8:20 p.m., Euskalmet warned that the storms in Las Encartaciones could affect Greater Bilbao and could leave hail, and this has been the case.
Bilbao and its surroundings have experienced intense rains that have left large pools of water that have caused the firefighters to intervene.
They have also had to bail out water in Leioa and deal with a lightning strike at a gas station in Portugalete.
In Bilbao, the power has gone out in several buildings, including EITB for a few minutes, and the sky has been colored with lightning bolts.

Yellow warnings for heavy rainfall
The Security Department of the Basque Government has activated yellow warnings from this Sunday to Monday in anticipation of heavy rainfall during these two days with the possibility of exceeding 15 liters per square meter in one hour. Moderate and stormy showers are expected that could be strong locally, especially in the west, with wind gusts of between 60 and 80 kilometers per hour to which hail would be added.
The same situation could be repeated on Monday between 00:00 and 03:00 and that same day between 15:00 and 21:00.
Aemet Navarra has activated the alert for accumulation of rainfall and storms, which may be accompanied by hail and very strong gusts of wind, until midnight.

On Monday the instability will become more evident. Throughout the day there will be stormy showers that could be locally strong. The wind will blow light and variable, prevailing from the southeast in the Ebro Valley and the breezes in the Cantabrian area. The minimum temperatures could drop somewhat, while the maximums will drop more noticeably.
