The keynote will be available worldwide as a live stream. For those attending the conference, OpenAI is offering additional talks.
New tools to be expected
There are likely to be a few announcements during the keynote. The OpenAI DevDay blog post states that the OpenAI team would like to present new tools and exchange ideas with the developers.
The direction in which the new products will go remains unclear. Since this is a developer conference, the focus will be less on interactive offerings like ChatGPT and more on APIs. They can be used, among other things, to integrate the language models GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, the text-to-image generator DALL·E and the speech recognition system (Automatic Speech Recognition, ASR) Whisper into applications.
According to OpenAI, two million developers are currently using the APIs.
Further details can be found on the OpenAI blog. Even though the conference will take place in two months, registration is not yet possible. Anyone who would like to be in San Francisco in November can fill out a form to receive a notification when the registration phase begins.
