In its statement, the Consell d’Informatius, an internal body in which professionals participate to ensure the independence, objectivity and veracity of the information, states: “In light of the regrettable incident recorded in the editorial office of À Punt last Tuesday , September 5, this Consell d’Informatius expresses its total and unconditional support to the members of the editing team who suffered verbal aggression and threats from a member of the staff of this company.” In addition, he congratulates the editing team for their “resistance to pressure and for not allowing it to affect the content of the news program being prepared at that time.”

The council expects “a forceful action by the company for the conduct contemplated in labor regulations in the face of an intolerable attitude.” “There is no evidence, at this time, of any external action that could be related to the incident,” the note adds.

The Unió de Periodistes, the main professional association of the Valencian Community, also spoke out on the controversy: “The Unió de Periodistes offers all its support to the staff of À Punt Notícies who have experienced a regrettable episode of attempted interference with threats when reported on the incompatibilities of Vice President Vicente Barrera. We hope it is solved and not repeated.”

Regarding the information about the former bullfighter Vicente Barrera, both the PP and Vox, partners of the Government of the Generalitat, assure that there is a period of two months to complete the corresponding procedure for his appointment.
