The Provincial Court of Almería has sentenced the Moroccan immigrant who a popular jury found guilty of breaking into his ex-partner’s house to threaten her and attack her with a large knife to sentences totaling four years and ten months in prison. While she was in the grip of “great fear and anxiety”, she rushed at the victim and pushed her against a piece of furniture, which caused her to hit her shoulder and suffer minor injuries – the only extreme that did not have the unanimity of the jury and which was supported by a majority of eight votes.
For the events reported, he has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison and to pay a fine for the crime of breaking and entering with the use of violence, in which the aggravating circumstance of kinship occurs and which also entails a restraining order. 500 meters from his ex-partner for five years.
