Urkullu believes that a constitutional convention would solve the “crossroads” of the plurinational reality

The Lehendakari recovers, in an article published in ‘El País’, a resource that was already raised in 2018 and that is used in Anglo-Saxon political culture. He proposes holding, within a year, a bilateral forum to analyze the Magna Carta and update the territorial model.

Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu considers that, given the “current political crossroads”, his proposal for a constitutional convention, a resource that he already raised the day before yesterday in his appearance at the beginning of the political year, could constitute “a flexible and creative way” to recognize the plurinational reality of the State.

This was highlighted in an opinion article published today in the newspaper El País under the title “Basque self-government and plurinational model of the State. If there is will, an agreement is possible.”
