Eve Systems: AirPlay 2 streamer, temperature control for Thermo and more Matter
The HomeKit and Matter specialist Eve Systems has announced new products just in time for the Berlin IFA. Eve Play is the company’s previously leaked AirPlay 2 receiver. Eve Thermo Control supplements the popular thermostats in the Eve Thermo series with the option of also recording the temperature in the room, which makes it easier to set the heating correctly. The Eve MotionBlinds receive adaptive shading via a firmware update, which was already known from the Eve Shutter Switch.

AirPlay 2 distributed to HiFi systems
With the Eve Play, which costs 150 euros, you can integrate existing hi-fi systems and loudspeakers into AirPlay 2 via WLAN (2.4 and 5 GHz) and then play music from Apple devices such as iPhones, iPads or Macs.
The device also has an Ethernet port. Two digital outputs (coax and optical) and two RCA sockets are available for audio devices. Eve Play can be integrated into an existing HomeKit network. The device contains a DAC from Texas Instruments (PCM5122A) with a signal-to-noise ratio of 112 dB. A power supply from Eve is included and availability begins in mid-November.
Eve Thermo regulates itself better
With the new Eve Thermo Control, the HomeKit heating control Eve Thermo can be better controlled. Instead of taking the temperature directly from the radiator – where you have to correct it using an offset – you can place the system in the room and then regulate the heating to the desired value. The hardware shows the current temperature and target temperature on an E-Ink display and also has an integrated humidity sensor.
Buttons for setting the temperature specification are also integrated. The Eve Thermo Control comes onto the market in mid-November and costs 80 euros. A combination package with Eve Thermo does not seem to be planned yet, although the new hardware actually seems mandatory. With the release of the Eve Thermo Control, a Matter update for Eve Thermo will also be made available.

Firmware update for MotionBlinds
Finally, Eve Systems is also planning a firmware update for the Eve MotionBlinds roller blind motors and the Eve MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit for roller blinds. Both get the so-called adaptive shading function. This means that the systems can open and close automatically depending on location and time in order to adapt the situation to the position of the sun. In addition, the motion blinds are made fit for Matter.
