The compound was closed to the public and heavily guarded by dozens of national guardsmen amid concerns of possible riots by Prigozhin’s supporters.
Less than 50 people, mainly relatives and close friends, fired who until just two months ago was considered a national hero.
Prigozhin, who died last week in a suspicious plane crash, fell out of favor after Vladimir Putin’s failed rebellion on June 23. That day, the president branded him a “traitor,” and some suspect the Kremlin is involved in his disappearance.
The plane was carrying the core of the mercenary group, now headless and unlikely to pose a threat to Vladimir Putin in the near future.
