For the international soccer player, neither Rubiales nor the RFEF respected her after the kiss she received from the president, once the controversy began in Spain. “I just wasn’t respected.”
“I was asked to make a joint statement to reduce the pressure on the president, but at that time in my head I only had the idea of enjoying the historic milestone reached together with my teammates. “It is not up to me to evaluate communication and integrity practices, but I am sure that as the World Champion National Team we do not deserve such a manipulative, hostile and controlling culture. These types of incidents join a long list of situations that The players have been denouncing in recent years, so this fact, in which I have been involved, is just the straw that breaks the camel’s back and what the whole world has been able to see, but attitudes like this have been part of the day by day of our team for years”.
The Higher Sports Council has gone to the Administrative Court of Sports to disqualify Rubiales.
“I believe that we are in a position for this to be the mee too of Spanish football and that this is a change and therefore the Government wants to warn about that. It wants to be very forceful when it comes to saying that there are things that cannot come back come to pass”, stressed Víctor Francos, president of the CSD.
The Madrid Prosecutor’s Office has processed several complaints against Luis Rubiales and has transferred the case to the National Court. Previously, FIFA had opened a file. The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation refused to resign this Friday despite mounting pressure. He assured that he will protect his name in court if necessary.
