Sumar will lend two Catalan deputies to Esquerra Republicana so that it can form its own group in Congress and thus receive more subsidies, which would be further reduced if they finally had to go to the Mixed Group.
ERC, like the Junts coup leaders, has seven deputies, but does not reach 15% in two constituencies or in Catalonia as a whole. The objective of the formation led by Yolanda Díaz is that they exceed the established minimum and can form their own parliamentary group. It should be remembered that this Friday, August 25, the deadline for registering groups ends.
The Regulation establishes that, to form a parliamentary group in Congress, it is required to have more than 15 deputies, such as the PP, the PSOE or Vox, or a minimum of five seats plus 5% of the votes of the whole of Spain or 15 % in the constituencies where it has been attended.
Specifically, Yolanda Díaz will give up her deputy from Girona, Jùlia Boada, and that of Tarragona, Félix Alonso, so that they add their percentages of votes to those of ERC in those provinces and thus exceed 15% where those of Rufián do not arrive alone . Later, these two deputies would leave the ERC group to join Sumar’s.
