The sound sticks have been on the market for over 23 years – in different versions. The iconic loudspeakers from the supplier Harman Kardon were once developed together with Apple and, among other things, went perfectly with the Power Mac G4 Cube, but also remained popular with other Macs. The 2.1 speakers come with a powerful subwoofer and two satellites, each with four tweeters.

red instead of white
After the manufacturer Harman Kardon has already updated the sound sticks four times over the decades – most recently in 2020, but not (anymore) for the European market – they have now been reissued in a special edition in cooperation with the Supreme fashion label, but are already sold out again. According to the website of the brand popular with hipsters and skaters. Accordingly, it was a reworked version of the Soundsticks 4, the current generation. This is Bluetooth enabled and is usually identified by white tweeters and woofer components.
The Supreme version, on the other hand, has a total of eight tweeters in the typical Supreme red, plus a red woofer with large Supreme lettering. Technically, nothing changes: The system comes in a 2.1 configuration and can be addressed via Bluetooth. According to the manufacturer, the system has an output of 140 watts and weighs just under 4.4 kilograms.
Drop already done
Supreme launched its Soundsticks 4 as part of the Fall/Winter 2023/2024 collection. It was priced at $400 (or £360), which was $100 more than the standard variant. However, as usual, it was extremely difficult to get hold of the product. It was made available for pre-order as part of the label’s recent ‘drop’ last week.
With the drops, countless interested parties try to place an order at a specific time. Many of the products – especially those with a conspicuous Supreme logo – then go into the gray trade and are sometimes offered at double or triple the price. It shouldn’t be any different with the Soundsticks 4. After the delivery that is now taking place, they should soon be listed on the corresponding pages. If you absolutely (still) want to have it, you have to pay extra.
