Esteban: “No candidate has the support of the PNV”

One day after meeting with King Felipe VI as part of his round of consultations to propose a candidate for the investiture, the PNV spokesman in the Congress of Deputies, Aitor Esteban, has assured that the message he conveyed to the monarch was that “No candidate has the backing of the PNV” and has denied, in this regard, that the jeltzales have asked the king for anything in particular (various media outlets suggest that they requested more time). “We did not request anything, we only gave our opinion. Let him do what he deems appropriate,” he added about what he transferred to the head of state.

In a telephone interview offered to the “Boulevard” program of Radio Euskadi, Esteban has pointed out that, since the negotiation of the Congress Table, they have not received “any call” from the PSOE, who, in his opinion, is responsible for making ” movements”. “So from there, we’ll start talking,” he said.

Regarding the PP, he has admitted that the PNV has picked up the phone when there have been calls, but that, in any case, they made it “very clear from the beginning that we were not going to negotiate with them if Vox was in the combination.
